Special Education Parent Seminar - IEP Partnerships for Success

The Olathe Public Schools Special Services Site Council will host a free seminar for parents of students with disabilities and exceptionalities. "Partnerships to Mold Student Success" is the topic of the Tuesday, Sept. 26 Zoom meeting. Join the Zoom presentation by 6:30 p.m. The session will be presented by Dr. Kathy Otto, former special education administrator and teacher, and Sarah Otto, M.Ed., MPA, former elementary special education teacher and program director for a non-profit organization. Their presentation identifies proactive measures to ensure Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams plan, problem solve and determine individualized goals for student success while maintaining a positive and student-centered meeting. IEP teams require parents and school personnel to build a trusted, collaborative partnership within a short period of time. Anyone needing a sign language or foreign language interpreter is asked to email Sally Boyd or call 913-780-8170 by Sept. 19. There is no need to RSVP for the seminar.
